VOTE411 Human Interest Reporter/Photographer Team

Great opportunity for a journalism, photography or videography student or team!

The New Castle County VOTE411 team plans to release human interest stories to the local press every couple of weeks from the July 16, 2018 launch of the Delaware VOTE411 online voters' guide until the date of the statewide general election on November 6, 2018.  VOTE411 Coordinator Kim Wells is looking for a volunteer reporter, or a reporter/photographer team, to inteview local residents about their experience with VOTE411.org and how the website has helped them.  For example, a newly registered young person who doesn't know what to expect at the polls, and VOTE411 gives them confidence.  Or an older voter who is having trouble sorting through all the misinformation they get in smear ads in their mailbox or one-sided posts on Facebook, but trusts the League of Women Voters (LWV) for fair and truthful information.

LWV will locate the interview subjects, we just need someone to travel to their location, show them how the VOTE411 website works, ask questions and record their answers, and take interesting photos to accompany the news article.  The VOTE411 team will also compose and send the press releases; the volunteer or team responded to this opportunity needs only supply the quotes from the interview subjects.
